Middle Schools in The Glenmore & Rutland Areas
Glenmore and Rutland are home to three middle schools for students in the catchment area. These schools include École Dr. Knox Middle School, Rutland Middle School, and Springvalley Middle School. Each of these schools provides in-depth education for all kids in attendance.

About École Dr. Knox Middle School
École Dr. Knox Middle School is a middle school within the Glenmore catchment area. Dr. Knox teaches students in grades 7-9. This school is located on Drysdale Boulevard in the North Glenmore area. Moreover, Dr. Knox is a relatively new school with a gymnasium, drama room, woodshop, foods classroom, weight room, and an expansive outdoor field.
The Dr. Knox school day begins at 8:45 am and ends at 2:53 pm. Students rotate through 4 periods per day and 8 classes per semester. For example, day one would be ABCD, and day two would be EFGH. The feeder schools for Dr. Knox are as follows:

Once students complete their three years at Dr. Knox, they will attend Kelowna Secondary School for grades 10-12. Dr. Knox offers a wide range of courses and athletics for students enrolled. During the fall, students will have the opportunity to play volleyball, rugby, field hockey, or cross country.
In the winter, students can participate in basketball, volleyball, wrestling, and archery. Finally, in the spring, kids can choose to play golf, field hockey, or track and field. Dr. Knox also offers three sports academies: golf, soccer, and hockey. These academies replace a student’s regular gym block and are only available to kids in grade 9. Moreover, the school also offers drama, music, and choir.

About Rutland Middle School
Rutland Middle School is a middle school in the Rutland catchment area. RMS teaches students in grades 6-8. This school is located on Rutland Road near the Kelowna Family YMCA and the Rutland Sports Fields. RMS is a longstanding middle school that has been in Kelowna for decades.
The school has a rich and important history to students and community members. This school begins at 9 am and ends at 3:09 pm each day. Furthermore, students rotate through 4 different periods per school day. The feeder schools for Rutland Middle School are as follows:

Once students complete grades 6 through 8 they are sent to Rutland Senior Secondary, where they will complete high school. RMS offers a large number of courses and athletics for students enrolled. During the fall, students will have the opportunity to play volleyball, rugby, field hockey, or cross country.
In the winter, students can participate in basketball or volleyball. Finally, in the spring, kids can choose to play golf, field hockey, or track and field. About Springvalley Middle School
Springvalley Middle School is a middle school in the Rutland/Springvalley catchment area. SMS teaches students in grades 6-8. This school is located on Ziprick Road in the South Rutland area. SMS teaches approximately 560 students each school year and the staff does their very best to ensure that a high quality of learning is upheld.
In addition, the SMS staff believes that through good support and strong goals, students can reach their potential. At this school, the day begins at 9 am and ends at 3:15 pm Monday through Friday. Once students complete middle school at SMS they are sent to Rutland Senior Secondary, where they will complete grades 9-12. SMS offers a large number of courses and athletics for students enrolled.
