Kelowna Real Estate in 2021
We are excited to bring home buyers and sellers here in the Okanagan the opportunity to make 2021 a great year for Kelowna Real Estate! Last year was a bit rocky due to the COVID 19 pandemic. The market finished strong, but this year we are starting with a fresh approach as things begin to look up. If you’re like most, then all this pandemic talk might have you itching for a change in residence. It goes without saying that we have you covered!
This year is also about getting back on our feet for many. After such a difficult year we are more than ready to accommodate any and all needs regarding real estate. We understand that after several bouts of lockdowns people are looking to change their address. So, as we move further into 2021, we are very happy to help get buyers and sellers in the Okanagan started in the right direction. In the meantime, we are going to share some tips on how to get your house ready to list, and what to expect from Kelowna Real Estate in 2021.
How to prepare your home for spring listing
If you’re bored of the home that you had to spend an unusually long time in over the past year, then we’re here to show you how to start fresh with new Kelowna Real Estate. As a homeowner, there are a couple things that you can do to make the selling process easier.
It’s no secret that during the pandemic our houses have become our office, gym, bar, school, and so much more. Chances are your home is going to be a bit more banged up than before it had to function as your place for everything. But, no need to fret! A small investment of time and elbow grease will make selling in the future so much easier. Here’s how to start:
Make a list and start the process!
Take a walk around your home and note any easy fixes or things that could be tidied up in order to uplift the appearance of your home. Declutter any areas that might distract a potential buyer from the value of your home. If you notice any walls that appear to be especially dirty it might be time for a quick coat of fresh paint. Make sure when it’s time to sell that you’ve done your best to depersonalize your home. It is easier for a buyer to envision themselves in the space when there aren’t any reminders of the current owners.
Make sure everything is spotless floor to ceiling.
While you may have become friends with the dust bunnies hidden in and around your furniture, buyers likely aren’t going to have the same attachments. Another necessity for the interior of your home is to make it smell clean. Put away the litter box and bake a batch of cookies to eliminate any icky odors. By baking before having someone in to view your home you gain three things: 1. The cookies. 2. A great scent. And 3. An inviting atmosphere. You can also add fresh flowers to tables and countertops around the house for added scent security.
Outside Impressions Count Too!
Once you’ve done all that can be done to make the interior of your home look stunning it’s time to evaluate the exterior. Walk around the perimeter of your home and check to make sure everything is in working order. Ensure that nothing has been damaged or broken in the harsh winter weather and note anything that could be cleaned up. Wash up the siding by pressure washing the exterior of your house to remove any unwanted dirt and debris. If your gutters are in need of a clean it’s best to do so too. Take a gander at your front door, and check that it is clean and appears welcoming to those entering your home. You can do so by adding flowers or a new welcome mat to make people feel invited.
What to expect in 2021 from Kelowna Real Estate
As we move into the upcoming year, we expect to see even more buyers and sellers interested in changing their location within Kelowna. The city has so much to offer. With several amenity rich neighbourhoods we think that it is going to be another great year for real estate. 2020 took us all by surprise and while it may be harder to find a home this year it is an unprecedented time to sell. With such little competition, sellers are likely to get some great offers in the new year. The scarce inventory can signify greater profit for any homeowners who are looking to part ways with their current residence.
